MOUNT FUJI, Japan (Oct. 12, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Sarah Brautigam, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCN) 5, and Petty Officer 2nd Class Ethington, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4, begin the turnover process for a project to construct a vehicle staging area, discussing all aspects of the electrical that needs to be completed. NMCB 5 is the forward deployed Western Pacific NMCB ready to support major Combat Operation and Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief operations and to provide general engineering and civil support to Navy, Marine Corps and joint operational forces. Homeported out of Port Hueneme, Calif., NMCB 5 has 12 detachment sites deployed throughout the United States and Western Pacific area of operations.
