Daniel Hanko, the airframe staff noncommissioned officer in charge with SPMAGTF-SC, the Joint Service Achievement Medal for ensuring two CH-5E helicopters were in a ready status to support the delivery of food and emergency supplies in Haiti in support of Joint Task Force Matthew in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew during an award ceremony at Soto Cano Air base, Honduras, Oct. 20, 2016. JTF Matthew, a U.S. Southern Command-directed team, was comprised of over 400 Marines, soldiers, sailors and airmen on the ground in Haiti supporting the U.S. Agency of International Development’s disaster relief operations by providing critical airlift capabilities during the vital early stages after the island country was struck by Hurricane Matthew.
