Fairfield, Conn. resident, Lt. Col. John McKee and Sgt. Maj. Jainarine Singh, from East Islip, N.Y., fasten their unit's Yellow Banner to the line during a ceremony at Army Support Activity-Dix's Infantry Park, June 18. Their unit, Information Operations Command, Detachment 49, is an Army Reserve organization from Fort Totten, N.Y. that will deploy to Afghanistan to conduct an information operations mission. The Yellow Banner is given to units who mobilize through ASA-Dix as a symbolic gesture that they are in the thoughts and well-wishes of the ASA-Dix community. The banner is hung in Infantry Park while the unit is deployed and given back to the organization upon its return from combat.
