Marines from Marine Wing Support Squadron 274 and Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 232 ensure that the deck pendant, the wire stretched across the landing strip to catch aircraft, is taunt and raised off of the ground before an F/A-18 Hornet uses the newly-installed arresting gear here, June 30. The MWSS-274 Marines spent weeks installing the gear, clocking about 1,100 man hours.
