An extraction team from the California Air National Guard’s 129th Air Rescue Wing shields itself from the rotor wash of a UH-60 Black Hawk taking off Nov. 17 at Federal Emergency Management Agency Headquarters, California Task Force I, Los Angeles, during Vigilant Guard 17. The helicopter dropped the team that arrived to recover victims of a simulated train derailment following a massive earthquake. Vigilant Guard united several dozen local, state and federal agencies to prepare for a real-life mass casualty event. (Army National Guard photo/Staff Sgt. Eddie Siguenza)
