TRINCOMALEE, Sri Lanka (Nov. 25, 2016) A Sri Lankan Marine “buddy” drags 1st Lt. Robert Simpson, a platoon commander with Alpha Co., Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 4th Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, during physical training during a Theater Security Cooperation engagement at Sri Lanka Naval Base, Trincomalee, Nov. 25, 2016. Both U.S. and Sri Lankan Marines taught each other different styles of military physical fitness. The 11th MEU, part of Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet’s area of responsibility in support of security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
