U.S. Solider with the 59th CBRN Company from Ft. Drum, NY monitors volunteers for radiation exposure during a joint training event with the New York Fire Department on Fort Hamilton, NY, Dec 1. Nearly 100 volunteers from Fort Hamilton and the surrounding area gathered to participate in a joint training exercise between the FDNY and the 59th CBRN Company. This event was the conclusion of a week long training exercise organized by the City of New York and U.S. Army North, and supervised by U.S. Northern Command. The events gave Soldiers and local first responders the experience of working together during a complex chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear emergency. (U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Joe Laws)
