SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – U.S. Navy Adm. Kurt Tidd, commander of U.S. Southern Command, salutes the U.S. flag while disembarking the U.S. Coast Guard fast response cutter USCGC Richard Dixon (WPC 1113) after touring the cutter Dec. 7, 2016 with leaders from 21 partner nations attending the fifteenth Caribbean Nations Security Conference (CANSEC). The leaders visited U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Juan as part of the two-day conference. During CANSEC, they examined trends, challenges and threats impacting stability in the Caribbean and defined a collective strategy to improve their forces’ collaboration in support of regional security.
