Shirley Waldron Nied shows her granddaughter Camilla, 12, the home of former neighbor Capt. Frank H. Lane at Hickam Field at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam on Aug 8, 2016. A then five-year-old Neid, lived in the base housing during the Japanese attack on Hickam Field and Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941. She was taken in by the Lane family when her mother died in 1942.
