Derek Murphy, the Ingalls Shipbuilding National Security Cutter Program Manager, Industries presents a ceremonial key to the ship to Capt. Thomas King, the commanding officer of Coast Guard Cutter Munro, who is standing beside Captain Christopher Webb, the project resident office Gulf Coast commanding officer, during a commissioning ceremony for the Munro on December 16, 2016 on the ship’s flight deck at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
The ship’s keel was laid on November 5, 2014, and the ceremony formally transferred the ship from Huntington Ingalls Industries to the U.S. Coast Guard. This photograph's brightness and contrast has been edited to render it truer to reality. (U.S. Coast Guard photo by Petty Officer 3rd Class Travis Magee/Released)
