Marines assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Training Squadron 302, Marine Aircraft Group 29, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing listen as Brig. Gen. Matthew Glavy addresses the squadron aboard Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C., Dec. 16, 2016. Six Marines with the squadron were recognized by Glavy for their “safety win” after skillfully towing a CH-53E Super Stallion across the flight line using operational risk management principles to safely transport the helicopter. 2nd MAW’s “Safety Win” program focuses on how pilots and maintainers ensure the execution of correct procedures to safely and successfully accomplish the mission.
