Lance Cpl. Barnabas Madison, a squad leader with 81st Platoon, Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion 6th Marine Regiment was recently awarded Marine of the Quarter for performing above and beyond his peers. Originally from Lake City, Florida, Madison has been in the Marine Corps for nearly two years and now has a family with him in North Carolina. Madison explained when his platoon was asked who would like to be the Marine of the Quarter that his hand shot up. “I’m confident enough and a hard worker, so why not?” Having done a lot in just the short amount of time he’s spent in the Marine Corps, Madison believes he was selected for working proficiently and loving what he does. Madison is currently attached to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit for his first deployment and is planning to reenlist and make a career out of the Marine Corps.
