Annie Glenn watches as U.S. Marines with Marine Barracks Washington load the casket of her husband, Sen. John H. Glenn, Jr., onto a C-130 Hercules at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, on Dec. 17, 2016. Having flown 149 combat missions in World War II and the Korean War, Glenn became the first American to orbit the earth in 1962.
