Cpl. Charity Grogan, a French horn player with the 1st Marine Division (Forward) Band, searches a truck compartment, Aug. 25, before allowing it to enter onto Camp Leatherneck. Grogan is one of 12 Marine musicians from the band, who deployed with the division. She is currently assigned to Base Defense Operations Center, which maintains the perimeter security of Camp Leatherneck. "I like having the two different missions," Grogan said. "In the rear, I get to play the instrument I love and travel a lot. Out here, I am here to be security too. I can put down my instrument when needed and pick up my rifle and do what Marines do. After all, every Marine is a rifleman."
