Pfc. Kris McFate, mobilization clerk and Roseville, Calif., native with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit loosens the bottom straps to remove the new M-50 gas mask during an annual chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense class aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Aug. 25, 2010. The MEU was the first major subordinate command in the Marine Corps on the east coast to receive the new M-50 gas mask for training. The annual training is designed to instill confidence in the mask and ensure the Marines know the proper procedures in the event of a CBRN attack. (Official Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. John M.
