U.S. Army Pfc. Jon Zimmerman, a Paratrooper assigned to the 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade, retrieves a light-weight grapnel hook while searching for notional trips wires during the Company Squad Competition at Caserma Del Din, Vicenza, Italy Feb. 3, 2017. During the one-day event, squads also completed an 11km road march with full combat load, a combat-related physical training event, warrior task testing and medical evacuation training. The 173rd Airborne Brigade based in Vicenza, Italy, is the Army Contingency Response Force in Europe, and is capable of projecting forces to conduct the full of range of military operations across the United State European, Central and Africa Commands areas of responsibility.
