U.S. Marine 1st Sgt. Jeffrey Craig, the first sergeant for Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, reads Sgt. Jason D. Calo’s name while calling roll during a joint memorial service at Patrol Base Beirut, Helmand province, Afghanistan, Sept. 5. Calo and Lance Cpl. Nathaniel J. Schultz were killed in action Aug. 22 and Aug. 21, respectively, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Friends of Schultz mentioned his appearance and the way he conducted himself, and worked to improve himself whenever he could.
