Sgt. Joshua Gage, from Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, salutes after overseeing the 21-gun salute for Sgt. Jason D. Calo and Lance Cpl. Nathaniel J. Schultz during a joint memorial service at Patrol Base Beirut, Helmand province, Afghanistan, Sept. 5. Calo and Schultz were killed Aug. 22 and Aug. 21, respectively, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Gage spoke during the service about the type of leader, mentor and friend Calo was to him.
