NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Jan. 5, 2017) -- Sailors and shipyard workers clear an obstruction from a sprinkler on the flight deck of Pre-Commissioning Unit Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) during a countermeasure wash-down systems test. The countermeasure wash-down system provides a moving screen of seawater to wash away hazardous contaminants from the ship's weather decks.
