ARTA BEACH, Djibouti (Feb. 16, 2017) U.S. Marines prepare to attach a concrete barrier to a CH-53E Super Stallion during helicopter external load training at Arta Beach, Djibouti, Feb. 16. A helicopter support team consists of three Marines; two hook men and an overall supervisor to ensure proper procedures are followed. The 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is operating in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility to support security and stability in the region.
