Soldiers from the 58th Combat Engineer Company, Regimental Support Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, place a cratering charge during the 58th CEC’s live-detonation training at the National Training Center on Fort Irwin, Calif., Aug. 31. The charges are placed inside a hole then detonated to make large craters to designed impede an enemy’s advance.
