JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- Retired Chief Master Sgt. Robert Paulson, a former C-130 loadmaster, reminisces as he watches a unit slide show here March 4, 2017, during a fly-away ceremony of the Alaska Air National Guard's last two C-130 Hercules aircrafts. After 41 years of flying the C-130 aircraft, the 144th Airlift Squadron’s eight C-130s were divested, with the planes either being transferred to outside units or retired from service. The unit’s last two aircraft departed the base the following day. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Tech. Sgt. N. Alicia Halla/Released)
