Brig. Gen. Robert “Abe” Abrams, the National Training Center and Fort Irwin commanding general, addresses the soldiers of the 2nd Transportation Company (Heavy Equipment Transporter) during their welcome home ceremony at the Freedom Fitness Center on Fort Irwin, Calif., Sep. 21. Abrams thanked the soldiers for their service as well as their friends and Family members for their support during the unit’s year-long deployment to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 2nd HET was also tasked with transporting equipment during the U.S. military’s recent drawdown in Iraq.
