U.S Marine Sgt. Maj. Troy Black was the guest speaker for the 1st Marine Logistics Group’s First Sergeant Seminar on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., March 13, 2017. Black discussed current issues and the importance of being a good leader and mentor. The first sergeants and Marines selected to become first sergeants, gathered to discuss their duties, responsibilities, to learn leadership skills, and how to develop professional relationships. During the two-day seminar they discussed the Marine Corps Separations Manual, counseling, legal trends, and force preservation. Black is the sergeant major for 1st MLG.
