STENNIS SPACE CENTER, Miss. -- Gen. Raymond "Tony" Thomas, commanding general of U.S. Special Operations Command, receives a tour of the Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School's Partner Nation Fallen Hero Wall by Cmdr. Clay Pendergrass prior to a briefing at NAVSCIATTS facilities on the John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The memorial wall pays homage to those killed in action since Sept. 11, 2001, from Partner Nations that have trained at NAVSCIATTS.
Thomas' tour of the three Naval Special Warfare commands located on Stennis marks his first visit to the area during his command at USSOCOM. The three commands include NAVSCIATTS, Special Boat Team 22 and Training Detachment Stennis.
NAVSCIATTS is a Security Cooperation schoolhouse operating under USSOCOM in support of Foreign Security Assistance and Geographic Combatant Commanders' Theater Security Cooperation.
NAVSCIATTS trains and educates Partner Nation special operations forces, SOF-like forces and SOF enablers. These forces are trained across the tactical, operational and strategic spectrums through in-residence and Mobile Training Team courses of instruction. (U.S. Navy photo by Angela K.
