STENNIS SPACE CENTER, Miss. -- Gen. Raymond "Tony" Thomas, commander of U.S. Special Operations Command, receives a paddle in U.S. Navy tradition, from Cmdr. Clay Pendergrass, commander of the Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School, located on the John. C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.

Thomas' tour of the three Naval Special Warfare commands located on Stennis marks his first visit to the area during his command at USSOCOM. The three commands include NAVSCIATTS, Special Boat Team 22 and Training Detachment Stennis.

NAVSCIATTS is a Security Cooperation schoolhouse operating under USSOCOM in support of Foreign Security Assistance and Geographic Combatant Commanders' Theater Security Cooperation.

NAVSCIATTS trains and educates Partner Nation special operations forces, SOF-like forces and SOF enablers across the tactical, operational and strategic spectrums through in-residence and Mobile Training Team courses of instruction.
