Runners round a corner and head toward Camp Liberty during the III Corps “Historical Half,” a half marathon that took them through Camps Victory and Liberty Sept. 26, to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the beginning of the Meuse-Argonne Campaign in 1918. That campaign marked the first combat action the Corps was involved in. The half marathon was conceived of as a way to give Corps soldiers and other service members a fitness goal to work towards, said Lt. Col. Robert Menti, III Corps Special Troops Battalion commander.
