Lance Cpl. Colby Rice, a field artillery cannoneer crewman with India Battery, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, patrols along the side of the Helmand River, Sept. 28, to deny the enemy freedom of movement. On a daily basis, the 21-year-old from Roxboro, N.C., and numerous other Marines with India Battery patrol the area around the Kajaki Dam.
