    II Marine Expeditionary Force

Marines with 2nd Platoon, 1st Squad, India Battery, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, patrol the area along side the Helmand River, Sept. 28, to ensure the safety of the Kajaki Dam. The area outlying the Kajaki Dam is considered one of the more dangerous areas, due to the wide presence of improvised explosive devices. The mission of the Marines of India Battery is to provide security for the Kajaki Dam and to force the enemy from the area. By patrolling this area, the enemy is denied freedom of movement and is often forced back.
