Lawrence Nicholson, commanding general of III Marine Expeditionary Force, speaks to amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) Sailors and Marines of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), assigned to Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD), in the hangar bay during a tour of the ship. During his visit, Nicholson visited several workcenters, met with Bonhomme Richard Sailors and Marines of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and sat down for a dinner with command leadership. USS Bonhomme Richard, flagship of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is on a routine patrol, operating in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to enhance warfighting readiness and posture forward as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
