Lt. Col. Loren Thomson launches a 4.4-pound medicine ball while keeping his back against the wall and his feet outstretched for the Seated Power Throw event of the OPAT. The purpose of the event is to assess a soldier’s upper-body power. The distance of three throws is combined to calculate the score. For a moderate level MOS, a score of 350 centimeters is required. For a high demand, or black rating, a soldier must reach 450 centimeters. (Wyoming Army National Guard photo by Sgt. 1st Class Jimmy McGuire)
