PACIFIC OCEAN (April 3, 2017) Capt. Douglas Kunzman, commander, Destroyer Squadron 9, speaks during a change of command ceremony on the flight deck of the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Howard (DDG 83). Howard is currently underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group’s assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
