SINGAPORE (April 4, 2017) Operations Specialist 3rd Class Avery Griffin, from Mobile, Alabama, prepares to toss a line to the pier as Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108) prepares to moor alongside Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Champlain (CG 57) at Changi Naval Base, Singapore, for a scheduled port visit. Wayne E. Meyer is on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment with the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group as part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend U.S. 3rd Fleet command and control functions into the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
