170405-N-ME988-294 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 5, 2017) Landing Craft Air Cushion 2, assigned to Assault Craft Unit 4 (ACU 4), departs the well deck onboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) to take vehicle and equipment to the beach for exercise Alligator Dagger 17 in the vicinity of Djibouti. The U.S. 5th Fleet-led exercise provides an opportunity to enhance multilateral capabilities in critical mission sets inherent to the U.S. Navy-Marine Corps, as well as partners and allies in the region.
