PACIFIC OCEAN (April 11, 2017) Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Electrical) 2nd Class Bryan Covey, from Monrovia, Calif., conducts an inspection of a gas turbine generator aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Kidd (DDG 100) while underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group's assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
