An F/A-18C Hornet from the Death Rattlers of Marine Strike Fighter Squadron 323 launches off catapult one on the flight deck on board the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. Steam-powered catapults are capable of accelerating a fully-loaded Hornet from zero to 180 miles per hour in less than three seconds. Ronald Reagan is currently underway performing tests and certifications in preparation for an upcoming deployment. (U.S. Navy photo/Petty Officer 3nd Class Alexander Tidd)
