U.S. Navy Capt. John L. Bryant and Petty Officer 2nd Class Toni N. Burton, the oldest and youngest sailors currently serving with Joint Task Force Civil Support, cut a cake as part of a ceremony commemorating the Navys 235th birthday Oct. 15, 2010. JTF-CS has 34 Sailors, of which 13 gave a presentation of the Navys current war fighting capabilities, followed by the cake cutting. Created by the Continental Congress on Oct. 13, 1775, the U.S. Navy was designed to intercept transports carrying weapons and stores to the British army in America, according to records on the Navys official website. Of note, Bryant is the first Sailor to serve as the JTF-CS operations officer. (Official DOD photo by: Gunnery Sgt. Jim Goodwin)
