Service members and civilians at Forward Operating Base Fenty start their version of the Army Ten-Miler in eastern Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, Oct. 24. U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Danny W. Rainwater of Clarksville, Tenn., 613th Movement Control Team Air Operations noncommisioned officer in charge, 106th Transportation Battalion, Task Force Bastogne, took first place male with a time of 1:1:03. U.S. Air Force Capt. Adrian N. Phillips of San Antonio, a quality assurance representative with the Defense Contract Management Agency, stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, took first place female with a time of 1:13:40. Approximately 200 servicemembers and civilians ran the 10-mile race, which shadowed the Army Ten-Miler event in Washington, D.C.
