Naval Support Activity Washington Commanding Officer Capt. Jeff Draeger talks to NSAW Naval Security Force and Metropolitan Police Department following the active shooter exercise on base. The active shooter exercise, referred to as “RELIANT SHIELD 17-1,” was completed to meet a United States Fleet Forces Command requirement that all U.S. Navy personnel participate in an active shooter practical exercise annually. It provided an opportunity for NSAW to perform tactical level drill while at the same time incorporating essential coordination with all the tenant commands on the Washington Navy Yard.
