Kotowski received the gifts for completing his duties as the logistical advisor to the 9th IAD while attached to 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division. His efforts expedited communications between the Iraqi army division staff and the Coalition forces providing supplies of ammunition to the 9th IAD’s M1 Abrams tanks and soldiers. Coalition forces enable their Iraqi security force partners through the advise and assist mission, contributing planning, intelligence collection and analysis, force protection and precision fires to achieve the military defeat of ISIS.
