Helicopters from 3rd Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, land at Camp Yusufiyah where they will pick up a mix of U.S. and Iraqi ground Soldiers to head out to their first air assault later that night, Nov 14. This mission lands on the 41st anniversary of the famous air assault that took place in 1965 in the Ia Drang Valley, Vietnam, depicted in the book "We Were Soldiers Once ... and Young" by then Lt. Col. Hal Moore.
