SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND – Sailors with Beachmaster Unit 1 aboard USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) provide terminal guidance to a Landing Craft Air Cushion on San Clemente Island during Composite Unit Training Exercise, May 4, 2017. The LCAC recovered personnel and vehicles that were conducting training missions expanding the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s capabilities as an amphibious force in readiness. COMPTUEX is the second at-sea training exercise used to sharpen command and control skills while challenging participants to adapt and respond to a robust and dynamic “red force”.
