Col. David J. Bishop, Third Army/U.S. Army Central Chief of Staff, speaks about the importance of honoring the nation’s military during a Veterans Day ceremony in Sumter, S.C., Nov. 13. Bishop also thanked the citizens of Sumter for their extensive support as the command moves to Shaw Air Force Base over the next year. "On behalf of the 103 Army families who have already moved to the Sumter area and the more than 1200 who will move here next year, thank you very much for taking us in to this wonderful community," Bishop said. "We are excited about our relocation to South Carolina, thanks in no small part to you people here, your community spirit and your support to our nation’s military."
