Col. David J. Bishop, Third Army/U.S. Army Central Chief of Staff, is greeted by the mayor of Sumter, S.C., Joseph T. McElveen, Jr .at a Veteran's Day ceremony sponsored by the Sumter County Veterans Association, Nov. 13. McElveen spoke about the uncommon patriotism the citizens of Sumter have before honoring the nation's veterans. "That is really what Veterans Day is about, uncommon patriotism, because any man or woman who wears the uniform makes a sacrifice," McElveen said.
