(May 17,2017)- Chief Hospital Corpsman Demetrius Roberts, instructor, Recruit Training Command, describes the type of firefighting training recruits receive at RTC to members of the 2017 Drill Instructor Summit as they toured the USS Chief firefighting and damage control trainer May 18. The group of 16 drill instructors spent four days touring RTC for the annual event that is hosted by a branch of the U.S. Military. The drill instructors from each branch gathered together during the summit to tour RTC, exchange ideas, and identify training practices to benefit enlisted personnel across the services.
