U.S. Marine Cpl. Luc LaChance, an infantryman with Marine Rotational Force Europe 17.1, throws an axe during the Viking Challenge, May 24 at Rena Leir, Norway. The Marines were invited to participate after working with the battalion during Exercise Joint Viking in February 2017. The Norwegian Telemark Battalion hosts the annual games for bragging rights of its elite warriors. The event highlighted the positive relations Marines have built with Norwegian soldiers since their arrival to Norway as the first Marine rotation of its kind. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Staff Sgt.
