U.S. Marines from Marine Rotational Force Europe 17.1 participated in the Norwegian Telemark Battalion’s annual Viking Challenge, May 24 at Rena Leir, Norway. Their total team of eight warriors competed for bragging rights against five teams of the Norwegian battalion’s strongest men. The Marines worked with Telemark Bn. during Exercise Joint Viking in February 2017. The participation of U.S. troops in Norway’s esteemed traditions is testament to the relations that grow stronger each day. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Staff Sgt. Michele Hunt)
