ATLANTIC OCEAN (May 24, 2017)-- Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 3rd Class James Lawson, from Anaheim, California, directs an MH-60S Seahawk assigned to the Crusaders of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 22 for the first time under the supervision of Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 1st Class Joshua Goolsby, from Miami, Florida, during Acceptance Trials. The future USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) – the first new U.S. aircraft carrier design in 40 years – is underway and will spend several days conducting acceptance trials, a comprehensive test of many of the ship’s key systems and technologies.
