170531-N-LC424-0340 PACIFIC OCEAN (May 31, 2017) Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Cameron Degraffreed, a native of Elkhart, Indiana, assigned to the engineering department of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), detaches the ship’s shore side potable water supply as the ship prepares to get underway. Pearl Harbor is currently underway conducting a Certification Exercise (CERTEX) as part of the third and final phase of qualifications for their upcoming deployment. The America Amphibious Ready Group is comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), and Pearl Harbor.
