170601-N-LC424-1003 PACIFIC OCEAN (June 1, 2017) Damage Controlman 3rd Class Jessi Trauner, a native of Clayton, Indiana, and Damage Controlman Fireman Crystel Noel, a native of Mount Sydney, Virginia, both assigned to the engineering department of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), load damage control equipment into a rigid-hull, inflatable boat during an anti-piracy exercise on the ship’s boat deck. Pearl Harbor is currently underway, conducting a Certification Exercise (CERTEX) as part of the third and final phase of qualifications for their upcoming deployment. The America Amphibious Ready Group is comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), and Pearl Harbor.
